Outdoor Water Garden, Museum San

Two weeks ago, I was fortunate to participate in the marketing workshop of our company. The activity was surprisingly held in a museum located away from the city. In fact, Museum San is situated on one of the mountains stretched across the region.

I am not exactly sure if the flower and water garden  is open to public for free. What I do know is that the admission fee will cost you 30,000 KRW! The fee will allow you to enjoy the indoor museum, the stone garden, and James Turrell’s Exhibition. Since, I didn’t have much time to spare to look around inside museum, I couldn’t exactly give a full review of the place.

Nevertheless, our workshop went smoothly in one of their seminar rooms. They’ve provided a good audio/video support and even the room lighting was pleasant to the eyes. Museum San is actually one of the 15 new unique MICE venues selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Korea and the Korea MICE Alliance as well.

Before our workshop started, we were given some time to wander around the venue. Here are some of the places and sights we were able to savor.

Verdict

Wonju is the largest city of Gangwon province; however, in the 5 months that I have settled in this area, I couldn’t suggest any other touristic place in the city besides Museum San. It is difficult to recommend this place though if you are only coming to Wonju solely for the Museum.

Luckily, this place is adjacent to Oak Valley Ski and Resort. Oak Valley is a popular ski resort during the winter season and a golf paradise during the warmer months. If you really want to visit Museum San, I guess it is safe to check this place on winter 🙂
